OOTD: Seeing Red

I have always loved to scatter red pieces throughout my wardrobe, but there’s no denying red is THE colour of this season. It’s fiery, vibrant, sexy and eye-catching; All the things I love in an outfit. Red is also a great way to get yourself in the mood for the warmer weather. Summer is coming people…

I’ve been hunting for some key red pieces that will be help me transition my wardrobe and also to break up the monotonous blacks, whites and greys I’ve become so accustomed to wearing. These are my incredible finds…

I’m wearing: Merci tee from That’s So Fetch $44, Skirt from Verge Girl $55, faux fur jacket from Zara $139, Tony Bianco boots $219.95.

I am loving this ruffle style of mini skirt at the moment. It’s both very on trend and super flattering, not to mention it’s RED! It’s also wonderfully affordable.

I recently discovered this really cool online store called That’s So Fetch, which is where I found this tee, and as soon as I saw it I knew I absolutely had to have it! I love the mock Gucci t-shirt trend at the moment, despite also loving (and owning) the real thing. I’m obsessed with it because it’s a good reminder to love the style and design of a piece over what brand it is.

The boots and faux fur coat I’m wearing are absolute must-have styles this season. I realise Australia is nearing the end of winter, but it’s still damn cold in Melbourne and plus, I’m about to move to London, so will need the warmer pieces. But the great thing about the sock boot is that it can also be worn in summer, with a cute little mini skirt or dress. And obviously buying pieces that can transition from season to season is very luxe for less!

I’m wearing: Levi’s jeans $149.95, Sandro mules on sale for $212, Country Road shirt on sale for $59.95, Loeffler Randall bag (sold out, similar here), Zara earrings $19.95

Now, can we just take a moment to appreciate these red mules?! Mules are an absolute wardrobe necessity this season. They are comfortable and help dress up a casual outfit of jeans and a jumper. I saw these months ago but decided $520 was far too much to spend on a pair of statement shoes…. But then I found them on sale for 60% off and snapped them up right away. Obviously. I’m pretty sure they’re sold out pretty much worldwide now, but you can find a similar, more affordable pair here and here.

We also need to address these Levi’s Wedgie jeans. They are the most comfortable, flattering and easy-to-wear jeans I have ever owned. So much so that I now own them in three colours! Hey, when you find the perfect pair of jeans, treat them like gold, I say. The high-waisted, cropped, frayed, straight-leg jeans are so in at the moment and they flatter pretty much EVERY body type. Don’t believe me? Slip into your nearest David Jones or Levi’s store now and try them on. You won’t be disappointed!

I also stumbled across these wonderful red earrings at Zara which they love, as they totally complete this simple OOTD.

Let me know what red pieces you’ve found lately?
